Yosemite National Park

Yosemite National Park

It was a place like no other. It was Memorial Day in Yosemite, and many travelers had decided this is how they were going to spend their day. Despite the masses of people coming in and out, the grand stature of El Capitan, Half Dome, and the other vertical rock formations that accompany them makes a spectator feel alone in a sense. Beneath the towering grandeur of El Capitan, where the earth’s pulse beats with ancient reverence, there is a meadow. As we lived in that field that afternoon, my brother and I felt obligated to never take our eyes off the rock. Every groove of El Cap enlightened us of its past.
